Due to a rapidly changing automotive landscape, Allstate sought a new niche to remain a leader in the insurance marketplace. More than 90 teams were tasked with creating a new pay-per-use insurance product for low-mileage drivers.
I helped to concept and create a market-disrupting product: Milewise. Working collaboratively with UX architects, visual designers, researchers, developers, business analysts, product owners and another content strategist, we developed the Milewise app: the primary digital interface for customers.
This project also involved planning communications across all digital touchpoints, which allowed us to break down pre-existing departmental silos. We worked cross-functionally with email marketing, branding, integrated marketing communications, agent education teams and more to ensure a cohesive experience for the customer.
A proof of concept version of Milewise is currently being sold in Oregon and Texas, and we’re gathering feedback to make the next release even more usable for our customers and agents. Based on feedback, we’re in the process of adding a budgeting tool and GPS mapping capabilities to the app. With Milewise, Allstate has revolutionized insurance and become a leader in connected cars.
